Dr. Cleven divides his time between CIHS and his work as the Tulalip Health System’s Medical Director and Internal Medicine Physician. He grew up in Portland, Oregon and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Oregon prior to attending Medical School at Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences.
During his 4th year of Medical School, he trained at The Cleveland Clinic and Oregon Health & Science University, as well as Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. After completing Medical School, he completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center – Kansas City, with an emphasis on Adolescent Medicine. Prior to joining CIHS and Tulalip Health System, he worked for six years at Providence Regional Medical Center – Everett.
His special interests include Adolescent Medicine (age 11 and up), HIV treatment, and the care of complex medical conditions. During his free time, he enjoys traveling around the world, outdoor activities, movies, and spending time with friends and family.
